Design and development of products is a common occurrence in engineering and management institutions. It often presents a problem of a synchronized and channelized thinking process when more than two people work on a project. Each person in the team may have varied ideas which are welcome, but the mode and the time of proposing such idea in a common platform usually creates chaos and disruption. Although various disciplinary measures can be taken to stop this type of disruptive behaviors in teams, it could only be temporary and on the surface. Applying the Six Thinking Hats method created by de Bono (1985) could have a positive and everlasting effect on team members as it will change each individual member's behavior from within. This paper reports on a case of the development of a innovative product which was to be designed and developed in limited time and had to be commercialized..............

Sun drying is traditional method practiced by many people to dry copra before extracting oil. An indirect natural convection solar dehydrator has been designed fabricated and tested for drying copra. Oil was extracted after drying the copra. The dehydrator reduces the moisture contentsuitable for oil extraction. Maximum temperature was obtained on the lowest tray (tray 4) of drying chamber. Drying efficiency, drying rate and final moisture contentwascalculated. faster results were obtained using dehydrator compared to that of conventional solar drying.

Refrigerator is one such innovation which has helped people in many ways. It helps to keep the food fresh even if it is kept for more than a day. In such a modern technology, people expect the smart and improvement in technology. So a smart refrigerator using a LCD display, GSM module , sensors and many more must be designed to make it a smart refrigerator and lead in the improvement of technology. It would further help people in many ways like reminding about the vegetables, displaying the temperature in the refrigerator and reminding one about the absence of a particular thing missing and many more things.

In a purchasing department of an industry, selecting supplier is one of the most important activities. The decision making of selecting the best supplier, the firms can save material costs, quality and can increase other competitive advantage. This decision becomes complicated when it becomes multiple suppliers, multiple criteria, and imprecise parameters. And also the uncertainty and vagueness of the expert's opinion is the prevalent characteristic of the problem. Therefore, it uses a multi criteria decision making method namely Fuzzy AHP and this can be utilized as an approach for supplier selection problem. In this case study, supplier selection problem of an industry of agro chemical is investigated and for the solution, a fuzzy analytical hierarchy process based methodology is used to select the best supplier firm providing the most customer satisfaction for the criteria determined. The supplier with the highest priority weight is selected as the best supplier.

It is difficult to think of recipe to prepare a new dish based on ingredients available at hand. Humans tend to keep a record of recipes but this set is limited to the recipes a person has encountered before. Each recipe has a set of instructions for preparing a particular dish, including list of ingredients. This application takes ingredients to be included as well as ingredients to be excluded as specified by user and retrieves list of recipes that match the given input. An alternative way is to search for a recipe based on the recipe name..............

Often it is a situation that, when we visit a mall or shopping centre, most of us spend timestanding in
a queue for billing rather than shopping itself. Having skilled and efficientstaff is another issue. In this scenario
a smart solution where you can scan the productsas you put them in the trolley and have the bill automatically
displayed would be mostsuitable.
With this objective in mind, we have created a smart solution and would like to introduceyou to 'The Smart
Trolley'. The functionality of this trolley is very simple and user friendly. It uses a barcode scanner to scan the
products you shop. Once you scan the productsand put them in the trolley, the product details such as product
name and the price willbe displayed on the mobile of the customer.............

Data mining is a most popular and broad domain of computer science. It helps in extracting useful features and patterns from huge amount of available data. It involves clustering as one of its pre-processing steps which deals with grouping the similar items together in unsupervised manner. K-means is a basic and simple clustering algorithm used in various data mining applications. The initial selection of centroids and determining the number of clusters for a given dataset has a great impact on the final result also affecting its time complexity. This paper provides a brief survey on various initial centroid selection methods and finding the most desirable value of K in K-means clustering algorithm.

In today's modern world, energy is one of the most essential requirements for the existence of human society. The energy demand especially in form of high-grade electricity and low-grade fossil fuels like petrol, diesel, gas and coal has been increasing exponentially day by day. So, there is an crucialrequirement to discover for solutions related to energy generation based on fossil fuels. This paper based on the application of 2ndlaw of thermodynamics for energy efficient design and operation of the conventional coal fired power generating station. The energy calculationnecessity be made over the energy quantity as well as the quality. But the usual energy studyassesses the energy generally on its quantity solitary. However, the exergy analysis measures the energy on quantity as well as the quality.............

Glass fiber reinforced plastic (GFRP) is the primary material used for the insulation of large superconducting magnets particularly in fusion reactors and particle accelerators. In this work the effect of gamma radiation on the mechanical properties of S glass fiber reinforced epoxy resin is studied. The composite was fabricated by hand layup technique. The prepared samples were irradiated by 60Co γ -source at different dose levels ranging from 500 Gy to 1500 Gy at room temperature. Mechanical properties before and after radiation were studied and compared. The tensile test and flexural test results showed decrease in strength with increasing level of absorbed dose whereas no significant change could be observed in impact test prior to and after irradiation.

Fiber reinforced plastics have gained utmost importance in the aerospace, automotive, marine and construction industries because of their particular mechanical and physical properties. Nowadays, glass fiber reinforced polymer combined with certain additives to form hybrid composites have gained more importance in fusion reactors and nuclear applications as this material gives outstanding desirable properties thus befitting them in various operating conditions. In the present work, composite laminates were fabricated using S glass fiber reinforced in epoxy matrix and a detailed study of the mechanical properties of the composite, such as tensile strength, flexural strength and impact strength was undertaken to evaluate the mechanical properties.
