Country :: India
Authors :: Manali P.Chavhan || Payal A.Shinde
Page No. :: 01-09

Electric Vehicle has received more attention as an alternative option to traditional vehicles powered by internal combustion engines running on fossil fuels. Automobile industries are targeting sustainable transportation in future. Electric motor plays an important role in electric vehicle. AC motors, DC motors, Reluctance motors are mostly used in automotive application. But BLDC motor is most suitable because of high reliability, high power density, high efficiency, low cost, lower weight and low maintenance requirements due to absence of brushes. In-wheel technology is new concept in which each wheel of EV is driven by separate motor instead of using central drive system. This paper presents developed model of Brushless DC Motor by using MATLAB/Simulink and performance characteristics of motor are observed during various loading conditions. Simulation results obtained from developed model are discussed which gives correct performance of model however it makes brushless dc motor more effective in automotive applications.

Paper mill industry has seen a lot of revolution since automation took place. Automation has led to reduced human efforts and also reduced costing of human labor, the advantage of automation is that controlled error techniques can be employed to remove any manufacturing error. Paper mill industry involves making paper from pulp then this processed sheet is passed through rollers in order to heat it and make it process-able for making paper , the sheet of papers are then cut according to the usage and application in which the paper shall be used. The proposed work presents an implementable technique for paper mill which will automate the process of paper mills and reduce human efforts. If the speed.............

Title :: An Implementation of Novel Fault Current Limiter Bridge Type Solid State Fault Current Limiter Baed on Ac/Dc Reactor

This paper presents the implementation of novel bridge type solid-state fault current limiter with use of single series reactor acts as AC and DC reactor. The proposed scheme uses uncontrolled and semi-controlled power electronics switches bridge rectifier with the reactor. The reactor used works as dc in normal condition and ac in a fault condition. The advantages of this proposed scheme over other fault current limiter are reactor inserts negligible impedance during normal operation and insert high impedance during fault operation and other one is simple switching. When there no fault or in the pre-fault condition it operates in dc mode and in fault condition it operates in ac mode. The switching decreases transient recovery voltage and inserts large impedance during fault period. MATLAB/Simulink software is used for simulation of the proposed BSSFCL

Relating with the existing high-voltage direct- current based on line commutated converter , the voltage source converter-based HVDC (VSC-HVDC) system has several merits, but the DC short-circuit faults because of the large discharge current of the DC-link capacitor makes VSCs are more prone to fault. This paper aims to summarize a superconducting fault current limiter (SFCL), which can efficiently suppress the amplitude of short circuit current of the VSC-HVDC system. The SFCL utilizes resistance to limit the quickly rising current. Firstly, the study of working principle and operating characteristics of the SFCL. Secondly, the rules of parameters co-ordination are analysed in order to obtain the best current limiting effect of the SFCL .Lastly, a simulation model is established, and verification of the current-limiting effect of both the limiters and the parameters coordination.

Low frequency oscillations, high torque pulsation are a major disadvantage of three phase permanent-magnet motor configurations. Choosing the proper number of stator slots and winding distribution as well as increasing number of phases are among the possible solutions for reducing torque pulsation. In this research work, we propose to investigate the comparative performance of a Multi-Phase PMSM with different rotor topologies by Finite Element Analysis (FEA), Modeling & Simulation using MATLAB. This will be verified by practical fabrication and testing. Also our research develops a guideline regarding selection of appropriate rotor construction of PMSM to meet different types of load characteristics. Some of the following issues shall be addressed while doing so. This type of work is not found in literature. It will help in selection of appropriate topology of the machine for various applications.

Page No. :: 48-54

Single phase induction motor is widely used for low power applications and domestic purpose, but it consists with its own losses and low starting torque. Single phase Induction motor can be used as asymmetrical two phase Induction motor which will run with two phase supply with more efficient results. Two phase supply can be obtained from Scott-T transformer for which three phase supply is needed. This method have its own disadvantage, the supply leads to unbalance in the system. The efficient technique is to generate two phase supply is by using two phase inverter by using sine pulse width modulation (SPWM) technique. The 16 bit Microcontroller and Digital signal controller dsPIC33EP256MC202 is used for SPWM signal generation.

This paper contains waterless cleaning system method for solar panels. The solar panel system available for studying this work is inclined from top to bottom which provide a degree of slope to solar panels. The cleaning mechanism is placed on the main support frame to clean the surface of the solar panels which move upwards and downwards according to width of the solar panel and main frame. This operation is controlled by a control unit for the cleaning system of solar panels. The cleaning system removes the dust, dirt, sand and mass from the solar panel surface which results in improving efficiency.

Title :: Improving power ramp capabilities of PV systems with MPPT control
Country :: India
Authors :: Mr.Sukhdeo R. Patankar || Prof.Pratik Ghutke
Page No. :: 65-70

Power ramp capability of a Photo Voltaic (PV) system is generally described by the number of fluctuations the system can withstand without spiking or sagging the output supply. This usually happens when there are sudden changes in input parameters of the system, due to which the PV cell's continuity is disturbed, and thereby there are ripple changes in the output power for the system. These outputs must be smoothened so that they do not cause ramp like behaviours in the system's outputs. In this paper we propose a novel Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) based ramp control technique which uses Proportional Integral (PI) control for keeping a check on the output power. We compared the obtained results with the standard PV systems and found that the proposed system improves the ramp capabilities by more than 10%, and thus makes the output usable for the load grids.

Power quality is among the most things that's stressed and is taken into thought by power system utilities so as to satisfy the strain of power distributor and customers. At every passing day this issue has changing into a lot of serious and at identical time the user's demand on power quality additionally gets a lot of important. Therefore it's essential to determine an influence quality analysis system to observe power quality disturbance. Many analysis studies concerning the facility quality are done before and their aims of times targeting the gathering of information for an additional analysis, therefore the impacts of varied disturbances may be investigated.
