Country :: India
Authors :: Arshad Rashid
Page No. :: 01-04

Waterjet looms are characterized in particular by high insertion performance and low energy consumption. These machines are used for the manufacture of light and medium weight fabrics with standard characteristics and water-repellent fiber materials, primarily multi-filament synthetic yarns. But many textile hubs like Bhiwandi,Malegaon are manufacturing cotton fabric that cannot beweaved by using waterjet looms. Due to this drawbacks waterjet looms can't be used for making cotton fabrics. This paper gives some detail regarding how to use it for cotton fabrics.

In this research work, design and analysis of zero turning radius robotic vehicle is presented. In this study various kinematic links are arranged to form the mechanism of vehicle. Electric motor is used for the required direction of vehicle in such a way that radius of rotation is equal to partial length of car. Vehicle rotates exactly at the same place without taking traditional circular turn. Designs of zero turning cars are useful in narrow roads where turning of cars are difficult. Static Analysis of chassis is done using FEA simulation. It is concluded that design of chassis is safe for 10 kg load.

Country :: India
Authors :: Noorul Ameen || A. A. Shaikh || Sharique Ather || Aakif Anjum
Page No. :: 17-22

Metal Matrix Nano Composite (MMNC) shows great ability to replace conventional Metal alloys and Metal Matrix Composite due to their extraordinary properties. In this research paper effect of nano fillers on tribological properties of metal matrix are reviewed. Past research clearly indicates that addition of nano particles into metal matrix or alloy improves tribological properties in terms of reduction in wear rate and decrease in Co- efficient of friction. Addition of graphene, nano graphite and carbon and tube formation of solid lubricant layer which cause improved wear resistance while other nano fillers (Al2O3,SiC,TiC, WC) cause improvement in micro hardness and Orowan strengthening mechanism to reduce wear and friction of composite materials. Nano particle reinforced metal matrix composites hence proved to be ideal for various tribological applications.

Page No. :: 23-28

This paper presents an experimental investigation of the occurrence of hydraulic jumps due to two phase air-water flow in a rectangular duct in a horizontal position as well as inclined position .Hydraulic jump is a phenomenon frequently observed in an open channel flow. In this present experimental investigation, various parameters like strength of the hydraulic jump, location of hydraulic jump, length of hydraulic jump is found out and the effect of flow rate of water and the effect of air flow on Position of the Jump hydraulic jump is studied. Hydraulic jump results in the reduction of total energy of a moving fluid, which in turn prevents the fluid from scouring the channel banks. Also hydraulic jump enables a portion of the fluid's kinetic energy to reduce which stabilizes downstream flow conditions.

Turning is one of the most important metal removing operations performed on lathe. In turning process, the work piece is rotated at some speed by rotating the machine chuck and the stationary tool is fed in order to remove the material. The parameters such as speed, feed and depth of cut are required to perform any turning operation and responsible for metal removing process. It is also found that during the turning process the machining parameters like speed of rotation of work piece, tool feed and depth of cut have their own effect on the work piece surface. In this work experimental analysis is performed by varying the machining parameters and simultaneously recording the surface roughness and MRR of work piece for the same set of parameters and the optimum set of parameters is proposed which has the maximum surface finish property.

Page No. :: 55-61

The reduction in rate of heat transfer and dimension of fin has major criteria for designing of components of heat exchanger. This research paper is an experimental analysis to investigate forced convective heat transfer in solid rectangular fin and rectangular fin with circular perforation of different diameters along the lateral axis of the fin. Performance is analyzed experimentally by designing experimental setup for specific fin length and it is validated as well by thermal analysis of fins and the results are counted as due to increase in surface area or convective area heat transfer rate increases, pressure drop reduces Nusselt Number increases. The large impact is that higher reduction in weight of fin is achieved by producing perforation which is the major requirement in heat transfer equipment..
