Aluminum is efficient in using as a conducting material when producing wires and cables because of its high electrical conductivity and low specific gravity. Wires of different diameters are used for the production of the conductors, drawn from aluminum rods. Heat treatment of the wires is necessary for recovering the ductility of the conductors' material. The progressive way of increasing the aluminum wires ductility is prolonged induction of heat treatment, which is based upon using an inductor with a ferromagnetic core, with one of its rods covering the circuit, drawn from the portion of the heated wire, and short-circuiting on the deflecting rollers. Calculations of basic dimensions, choosing the core material, and the inductors' winding is determined by its weight, size and cost indicators. In this paper the initial data for calculations are; the performance of the heat treatment process, the power supply voltage and temperature, at which the ductile properties of aluminum are recovered

This research presents the architecture of a low-cost environmental technology platform for in situ monitoring fire risk characteristics of the Maiandeua Island at Amazonian, during the year 2013. This isle is a case study of the anthropized forest area, whose goal is to characterize the climatic behavior with environmental variables of temperature and humidity, all to identify environmental impacts on human health and biodiversity of the forest. The BRASSEN (Brasil System Sensor) platform contains an embedded expert system to detect the risk or without risk (safety) of fire at inhabited forest environments. The results of empirical experiments with this platform are provided. The period of highest understorey fire risk occurs between the months of June and November. Therefore, this work considers a novel study in IN-SITU (local) technologies in inhabited forest areas.

This paper examines the steady state behavior of unreliable server in a batch arrival queue with two phases of heterogeneous service along with Bernoulli schedule and N-policy. The server provides two kinds of services in succession, the first stage service (FSS) followed by second stage service (SSS). As soon as both services are completed, the server may take a vacation or may continue staying in the system. The server may break down during the service; the failure and repair times are assumed to follow a general distribution. By using the maximum entropy method (MEM), the approximate formulae for the probability distributions of the number of customers in the system have been derived, which are further used to obtain various system performance measures. A comparative analysis between approximate results established and exact results has also been performed. It is noticed that the maximum entropy approach provides reasonably good approximate solutions for practical purpose.

This research studies the effects of particle grain size of reinforcing material on mechanical properties of composite material. A polymeric blend of epoxy resin and poly sulphide rubber [Ep 70% + PSR 30%] was used as a matrix, and nanozirconia powder (Nano-ZrO2) as a reinforcement material with various grain sizes (20-40) nm, (40-50) nm with the same weight fraction (2% wt.), and research samples were prepared by Handle Lay-Up Modeling.Tensile Strength, Hardness tests and the study of Surface Topography were conducted using a scanning electron microscope (SEM) without immersion and after immersion in normal water for 10 weeks, and the inspection of absorbency material.............

An experimental study has been carried out on a heat pipe heat exchanger used for heat recovery, the test rig has been built to simulate the same conditions of the heat recovery systems in air conditioning applications, in which the heat pipe heat exchanger is considered from the best solution specially in hospitals & laboratories in which zero cross contamination is required, the measured data acquired from the test rig were analyzed to investigate the thermal performance and effectiveness of the heat recovery system. Cold and hot streams have been connected with heat pipe heat exchanger, the first two experiments have been carried out by changing the hot air inlet temperature from 32 ~ 55 °C, while the inlet cold air temperatures has maintained constant at 26 °C in one experiment and 28 °C in the other one............

An inventory model for deteriorating items and shortages with finite production rate and stochastic demand rate is developed when the supplier offers delay period to the retailer for due payment against purchases and the retailer in turn extends the trade credit offer to its customers. This policy of passing on of the credit period is well known as two-level of credit financing. Items in the system follow stochastic demand behavior that are produced with finite production rate and subjected to constant rate of deterioration. The model is developed with an objective to minimize total expected cost of retailer as it is assumed to be a dominant player in the supply chain. A special case is made by taking time dependent deterioration. A numerical example is provided using LINGO software. Sensitivity analysis of various parameters is carried out to gain meaningful managerial insights.
