Title :: Microstrip Line Low Pass Filters Based on Metamaterial Component
Country :: India
Authors :: Navita Singh || R.N.B aral || Arun Kumar
Page No. :: 01-08

Stepped impedance microwave low pass filters (LPFs) are presented. The conventional stepped impedance LPF with cut off frequency of 1. 9 GHz is proposed. Replacing split ring resonator (SRR) instead of low impedance line in conventional design is presented to get compact, low insertion loss (IL), sharp cutoff, and high selectivity LPF. The proposed filter have better result compared to conventional counterpart. The simulated results indicated that the proposed filter achieved flat pass-band without ripples, corresponding to numbers of unit cells of SRR structure. Numerical result for the stepped impedance microwave LPFs are obtained. The filters are simulated by the computer aided design software (Ansoft HFSS) tool.

Title :: Affect of a In-Situ Parameters in Explaining Collapsible Behaviour of Red Soils
Country :: India
Authors :: K. Saroja Rani || P.V.V.Satyanarayana || G.Mounika

Red Soils are problematic soils in nature that decrease of capillary tension and loss of particle contact and decreasing volume on saturation. This volume decrease causes change of soil's structure and finally causes considerable settlement. The impact of development induced changes in soil structure changes the engineering performance which are moisture sensitive. In the present study an attempt is made with 10 red soils for various geotechnical characteristics to relate the collapsibility of these soils by considering parameters like water content dry density, saturation moisture content, void ratio and porosity etc., and the degree of collapsibility of these soils are explained with existing models.

Title :: Casson Fluid Flow and Heat Transfer over a Permeable Vertical Stretching Surface with Magnetic Field and Thermal Radiation
Country :: Bangladesh
Authors :: M M Hasan || Zillur Rahman
Page No. :: 14-19

This study investigates the flow of Casson fluid and heat transfer over a permeable vertical stretching surface considering the effects of magnetic field and thermal radiation. Two dimensional boundary layer governing equations are transformed into a system of ordinary differential equations and then solved numerically by shooting method. The effects of various involved parameters on flow and temperature distributions are explained graphically while the skin friction coefficient and Nusselt number are tabulated. Results show that the effect of increasing radiation parameter tends to increase the velocity and temperature profiles.

Graph theory has provided chemists with a variety of useful tools, such as topological indices. A topological index Top(G) of a graph G is a number with the property that for every graph H isomorphic to G, Top(H) = Top(G). In this paper, we compute ABC index, ABC4 index, Randic connectivity index, Sum connectivity index, GA index, GA5 index, First Zagreb index, Second Zagreb index, First Multiple Zagreb index, Second Multiple Zagreb index, Augmented Zagreb index, Harmonic index and Hyper Zagreb index, First Zagreb polynomials, Second Zagreb polynomials, Third Zagreb polynomials, Forgotten polynomials, Forgotten topological index and Symmetric division index of Nicotine.

Title :: Effect of a Long Dip-Slip Fault on Displacement, Stress and Strain in Viscoelastic Half Space of Burger's Rheology
Country :: India
Authors :: Mondal, D. || Sarkar (Mondal), S
Page No. :: 33-43

In the North-East India, China, mid Atlantic- ridge, Pacific seismic belt and Japan, most of the earthquake faults are dip slip in nature. In this work a long, surface breaking, dip-slip fault is assumed situated in a half space of linear viscoelastic medium of Burger's Rheology. Tectonic forces due to mantle convection and other associated phenomena are acting on the system. The nature of the fault movement is assumed to be slipping. The displacement, stresses and strains are obtained analytically at any field point in an isotropic, homogeneous, viscoelastic half-space using integral transformation, modified Green's function technique and correspondence principle. A close inspection of these expressions may give some clue about the nature of stressaccumulation in the lithosphere-asthenosphere system.

Estimation of California bearing Ratio values are important for civil engineers to quickly assess the behavior of soils used in the civil engineering infrastructure projects (Roads/Pavements).California bearing ratio test is usual to know the shear strength i.e. Penetration Resistance of component layers such as pavements such as sub-grade, sub-base and base course materials. In the present investigation 40 gravel soil samples are used to predict California bearing ratio values from index properties such as gradation, plasticity characteristics. 8 No of correlation equations are prepared by performing tests on gravel soils. Increasing the number of parameters in the given regression analysis high R2 values are obtained and efficiency in prediction of California bearing ratio values are also increasing.
